What our client wanted
Our client had a tiled feature wall in place but wanted to take it to the next level after seeing our bespoke media wall designs on Instagram. They loved the idea of combining a premium electric fire with a TV and custom shelving for a complete entertainment feature.
Their initial brief was for a sleek plaster-finished wall. However, during the design process, they were inspired by their original tiles and, after browsing new options, discovered the Rhomba geometric tiles from Topps Tiles. They asked if we could incorporate them into the back panels of the shelving for a unique, high-end look.
The design process
We designed a striking media wall to integrate:
Ezee Glow Celestial 72" panoramic electric fire for warmth and visual drama
Custom shelving with geometric tiled backs to add texture and colour
A dedicated recess for their existing 75" TV and Sonos Arc soundbar
Hidden cable management to maintain a clutter-free aesthetic
Our CAD mock-ups helped the client visualise exactly how the shelving, tiles, and fire would work together.
Building the media wall
Our build began with the removal of the old feature wall elements and the installation of a new timber frame to house the fireplace and TV. The shelving units were precision-built to align perfectly with the tiled backs, ensuring symmetry and clean lines.
The Rhomba tiles were installed with meticulous care to keep the geometric pattern perfectly aligned, creating a bold yet elegant backdrop within each shelf. The inclusion of the stunning Ezee Glow Celestial 72" fire instantly brought warmth and atmosphere to the space.
The Finished Media Wall
The end result is a striking yet inviting media wall that marries modern design with the client’s original style inspiration. The geometric tiles add depth and character, the electric fire provides a cosy focal point, and the integrated TV and soundbar make it a fully functional entertainment hub.
This transformation shows how a thoughtful redesign (even when starting with an existing feature wall) can completely elevate a living space.
